Hi guys, almost two years since I was updating this blog, but I have been sooo busy with other proyects that I forgot (and it's a fact that blogs need to be updated regularly in order to maintain its presence in the World Wide Web) well, probably too much Twitter (by the way @el_leprechaun).

Anyway I start again... with the last post of 2011 dedicate to Conan The Barbarian.
I found an incredible figure at 1:6warrior.com created for a crazy russian guy. You MUST see this one.
Based in the old good body of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the complete figure is handmade. Terrific work on the costume & repainting. The sword is the real metal and the accesories are made in real leather.

Enemy at the Gates - German Sniper

I am a huge fan of the movie Enemy at the Gates, one of the best movies about war, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, starring Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes and Ed Harris set during the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II.
The figure is inspirited in the Major Erwin König, the renowned marksman, and head of the German Army Sniper School at Zossen. The rifle is a Mauser Standardmodell (often abbreviated Kar98k) with telescopic sight, and a controlled-feed real bolt-action.
He is wearing a German Wehrmacht uniform with all the accessories, an iron cross included.

Artic Trooper - The Thing

I created this figure from The Movie The Thing, directed by John Carpenter and based on a John W. Campbell Short Story Who Goes There.
I always was fascinated for the character of R.J. MacReady, so the figure is a moderm version, I image that he is going to need a very special weapon to destroy the big ugly thing: It come with a Hottoys Special Force M4 SIR (Night Vision Scope), a FCS ACU 1911 Pistol with Holster Set, a US Army Sniper Team GPS Receiver and GIGN Operator Radio.
The outfit is a dragon Winter Parka with the Royal Marine Arctic Warfare uniform ((Kneepads took from VeryHot U.S. CIA). BBI backpack with Vintage GI Joe Mountain Crampons and Climbing Gear Ice Axe. The final touch was the googles mirror efect (I used aluminum paper)

7th Indiana Cavalry Officer USA

Hi guys, happy New Year... a long time from my last post, but you'now life.

Anyway, we have here today (not really my last one) model kitbach, an American officer of the famous 7th Indiana Cavalry Regimen. The kitbach is a mix between a dragon figure (from Lt. Col. Mith Metzger - F117A Pilot), the original uniform from the John Wayne pack, and a lot of different stuff.From Marx West: Gunbelt with easy closing holster and ammo pouch, as well as the frogs with saber hooks, the set includes a Remington Pistol, map case, Canteen and plastic bugle (the bugle as soft and pliable cords that resist breaking) From Sideshow: Miniature Winchester 73 Rifle and Indian Sheath Eagle Knife. From Vintage Marx West: the best, the Thunderbold horse with saddle and accessories. Additionally, black leather boots with real zip (from Chines custom) binoculars and the red lantern.

The pigs are trained to warn FRED from mines and Zombies. Advanced Combat Man System - One

To do something in 1/6 scale is quite more difficult that 1/35 versions and put some 1/6 figure inside could be really tricky, so, meanwhile I am going to update the blog with some interesting models. Alien The Movie

This is a collectable Executive Officer Kane Figure, one of the Nostromo Crew Members from Alien with his astronaut suit. The details are amazing!
I always love the design of Hans Ruedi Giger and the model has all the bizard components, from the Helmet featured with clear and movable shield to the breastplate. The face of Kane, the English actor John Hurt in the movie, seem to feel that is not quite adequate, in fact, any remembrance at all. Otherwise it is an extraordinary figure.

Resident Evil - Milla Jovovich

Who didn't remember the glamorous Milla Jovovich in the 2002 science fiction horror film Resident Evil, based on the same titled series of Survival horror games developed by Capcom. Borrowing elements from the Resident Evil 1 and 2 video games, the film follows an amnesiac heroine Alice, and a band of Umbrella Corporation commandos, as they attempt to escape a secret underground facility that at one time was filled with people but is now overrun with zombies.

Like in the movie poster, Alice (Milla Jovovich) holds a H&K G36K with AG36 grenade launcher by the AG36 grenade launcher's pistol grip.

Battle of Singapore

This figure represents an Imperial Japanese soldier of The Japanese Twenty-Fifth Army in WWII, noted for its role in the Battle of Malaya and Battle of Singapore. Very difficult to find was the Arisaka rifle.

The Arisaka Rifle is a family of Japanese military bolt-action rifles, in production from approximately 1898 until the end of World War II in 1945. The most common specimens include the Type 38 rifle chambered in the 6.5x50mm Arisaka cartridge, and the Type 99 rifle chambered in the 7.7x58mm Japanese cartridge.

During World War II, the Pathfinders of the 101^st Airborne Division led the way on D-Day in the night drop prior to the invasion. WWII German Afrika Korps with MOTORCYCLE

The German Afrika Korps (German: Deutsches Afrikakorps, DAK) was the corps-level headquarters controlling the German Panzer divisions in Libya and Egypt during the North African Campaign of World War II. Since there was little turnover in the units attached to the corps, the term is commonly used to refer to the headquarters plus its attached combat units. I did this model with a DiD figure, a very nice leather Motorcyclist greatcoat with gloves and a customize old Action Man Cherilea motorcycle.

Vinnie Jones & Two Smoking Barrels

This 1/6th figure represents to the rude Vinnie Jones, football player and actor. My inspiration was films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (in his role of Big Chris) or Snatch (in his role of Bullet Tooth Tony)

This is truly a beautiful figure, He is loaded with accessories, all of which are Dragon or better. His head is custom painted; he has a Fine British grey suit, light-blue shirt, red Pattern Tie, black Italian shoes (with black socks) and an amazing custom Two Smoking Barrels shotgun, with a Colt .357 Python Revolver (the cylinder swings out for reloading & comes in a shoulder holster)

M134 Minigun Manpack

When I first saw a minigun (a type of heavy machine-gun) at the "Predator" movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, I knew in that moment I want one of this!
I did my figure model finally, with a superb Figure Muscular Nude Body from Hottoys and the special manpak from The Villains Weapon set: ammunition box w/ flexible ammo strip: OD, silver and brass strip
lightweight tropical rucksack frame: black, silver weathering, silver and red cloth support straps, black cloth shoulder straps
packboard: black, silver weathering, 2 black elastic tie straps
M134 minigun: black, silver weathering, red firing button.
The pistol and the GPS were the final touch.

New York Police

The NYPD has a special place in my home. This one is my own kitbatching. I was looking for different items over eBay and I did my own patches. The shotgun is a exactly copy (die cast) as use the NYC Police department.
The figure consisting of a dark-blue uniform with NYPD badges, service number and name plate, laced black boots, with blue police garrison cap.

The heavy-belt has a long baton, lantern, metal handcuffs, keys, pager, a radio, pepper spray and a die cast black pistol with magazine bag and three extra magazines.
The sunglasses and the watch are the final touch!

The machine guns

The best accessories are the machine guns. There are several models in plastic in some in die cast. The more impress for me are: the U.S. M1917 .30 cal. Browning Machine Gun, the Soviet "MAXIM" M1910 7.62mm, the British M1917 .30 Browning with water cooking and the German MG37.
The MG37 was an air-cooled gas recoil operated weapon that was belt fed. It used the standard German cartridge and had an adjustable rate of fire. There was a light and heavy barrel available, the heavy one was distinguished by its cooling fins.

This beautiful figure was a combination effort of Japanese figure collectors/customizes Gamisanjp and Luckydog. Looks to be a customized Linh head (Dragon issue) on a bbi Cy Girl or Cool Girl body. Incredible!!! Sold for over US$300,00 on Yahoo! Japan.

Game Of Death FireBall

This is a 14" customized figure of G.O.D. FireBall ,( Game Of Death FireBall ) this figure's concept is base on the original story line from Bruce Lee's last incomplete movie "Game Of Death". The FireBall is painted by airbrush in yellow color with black stripes represent Bruce's jump suit in the movie, same as the sport shoes, it come with a yellow color scaled nunchaku. The yellow jumpsuit does not represent any form of martial arts, which that is Bruce's idea to give the message it's totally fee to adapt to any style of fighting. Having No Style As Style ( Jeet Kuen Do, the way of incepting fist ) The footprint on the robot is created with a real child's footprint. This footprint represent Kareen Abdul-Jabbar's footprint in one of the fighting scene from the fifth level of the pagoda in the Game of Death Movie. The antenna painted Bruce's birthday month & year Nov 1940. The name "HaiTien" was original character's name for Bruce Lee in the original Game Of Death movie. At the back of the figure we airbrush Bruce Lee's original concept Chinese name Game Of Death in 5 Chinese letters (The Game Of Death was press in 4 Chinese letters only since 1970's till now)

Everybody knows that SWAT means. SWAT (an acronym for Special Weapons And Tactics; originally Special Weapons Assault Team) is a specialized paramilitary police unit in major United States city police departments, which is trained to perform dangerous operations. These can include coordinated attacks on selected targets such as heavily armed criminals in secure locations. SWAT teams are equipped with specialized firearms including submachine guns, carbines, specialized tear gas, concussion grenades, and high-powered rifles for marksmen (snipers). They often have specialized equipment including heavy body armor, entry tools, steel reinforced boots and night vision optics. This figure represent a SWAT member of the LAPD (two versions)

The face will be the face of Mitch, from the F117 Night Hawk Pilot, I select him because maybe it's the only one dragon figure gray-haired with bendy fingers (very usseful hands).

The Pawnee

From Dog Soldiers figures I found this warrior of the Chahik-si-chakihs (the Men of Men). With distinctive "roach" hairstyle and traditional red facepaint. The Pawnee wears a beautiful bear-claw necklace and is armed with a fearsome rifle-butt war club and feather-covered shield. His buckskin leggings are gartered and decorated with beadwork worn on the front in Pawnee style.

Well guys, first at all, I am going to explain what the hell is kitbashing:

Kitbashing is a practice in which a new 1/6 scale model is created by combining elements from existing, commercially-available model kits; these elements may be added to an existing base, or to each other. Both hobbyists and commercial modelmakers do this; in the latter case, it is particularly popular for creating concept models, and also for detailing motion picture special effects.

Most of the modeling work is done on posable figures made of plastic. The average 1:6 figure stands roughly 30 cm (12 in) tall, representing a 1.8 m (6 ft) tall human.
Figures can be outfitted in a wide variety of mass produced, limited production, and custom clothing and items. Some people undertake vehicle projects ranging from tanks and helicopters to sand rails and jeeps. Talented "customizers", hobbyists specializing in construction of one-off and limited production items or the extensive modification of stock products, are limited only by their imagination.
The primary focus of most modelers is military subjects of many different eras, but some modelers focus on science fiction, fantasy, pop culture, or civilian topics. There are many ways of participating in the 1/6th scale hobby, ranging from simple collecting to the accurate modeling of entire military units.
My favorite figure comes from the series Dragon.
In 1987 Dragon Models Limited (DML) entered the 1:6 scale figure market with a German World War II figure named "Hans". Dragon figures were held in high esteem by collectors due to their both high quality and accurate products. Dragon Models Limited (DML) continues to produce high quality items, and they currently release several figures each month. Their main focus is WWII German, but they have released figures from the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, Korean War, both the first and second Gulf Wars, and the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. They have released few vehicles, three styles of German Kubelwagen jeeps and a German motorcycle, yet are producing heavy weapons such as anti-tank and anti-aircraft cannons.
